Lori LaBorde is Founder and Master Adventure Guide of NYC Adventure Moms. NYC Adventure Moms was founded in May of 2014 to provide rich opportunities for mothers and their children to engage with each other and re-engage with nature. As a Naturalist, avid hiker and lover of nature, Lori wanted her daughter to experience the world she loved so deeply, hence a new company was born, offering New York City mothers the same quality and enriching experiences.
NYC Adventure Moms now offers multiple programs to foster learning experiences in nature for kids of all ages. Programs include Mommy & Me Day Hikes, NYC Adventure School, and Special Seasonal Events.
Lori graduated Cum Laude from University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Management. She then went on to receive a Masters of Teaching Biology from New York University. Lori has worked with wildlife volunteer programs in Costa Rica re-introducing Scarlet Macaws, in Beacon New York for bald eagle habitat restoration, and Gateway National Recreation Area in NYC to conduct horseshoe crab monitoring. Lori worked as a high school Biology teacher for 4 years and has created and implemented nature curricula for summer day camps serving ages 3-15. Lori is certified in Pediatric and Adult CPR/AED, Responding to Emergencies First Aid, Water Safety, and holds a current Guide License for hiking and camping from New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
